Course Structure
MRI in Practice | The Flexible Course has an intensive programme of state-of-the-art presentations delivered over 4 days. Lectures and quiz sessions are interspersed with tutorials so that delegates can put the physics of MRI into a practical context. Delegates can choose which days to attend depending upon their prior knowledge and experience. There is an at-a-glance course programme here.
Here are some guidelines for expected entry levels for each of the modules;
Basic Topics (days 1-2): Practitioners new to the field of MRI who require basic explantion of the theory and concepts of MRI.
Intermediate Topics (days 2-3): Practitioners who have a little experience of MRI but who wish to consolidate their basic knowledge whilst exploring deeper into the subject.
Advanced Topics (days 3-4) : Experienced MRI radiographers who wish to study some of the more advanced topics and applications of the modality.
With its unique three tier structure and flexible attendance options MRI in Practice caters for all clinical users of MRI including radiographers, technologists and radiologists.
On completion of the course delegates are also given a certificate of attendance equivalent to 16 hours of learning activity.
Due to the large amount of material, all delegates are provided with complimentary course notes before attendance. These are either bound paper copies or on CD ROM. These are not intended to follow the lectures but include important information on all of the topics within the course, as well as some supplementary reading.
By studying these notes before attendance, delegates are more able to learn during this intensive programme.
The notes also provide valuable reference material for the future. Delegates are encouraged to read “MRI in Practice” the book to supplement their reading. Delegates on non-uk courses may receive a copy of the book MRI in Practice instead of the notes.
The College of Radiographers recognise this course as an invaluable part of a radiographers' CPD requirements.
CME credits from the Royal College of Radiologists have been applied for (usually attracts 16 Category 1 CME credits).
All Westbrook/Talbot MRI courses are endorsed by the British Institute of Radiology and attract credits that may be used as part of a formal qualification such as a post graduate certificate, diploma or degree. |
