    The Course Organiser
The live MRI in Practice course is presented internationally in 17 countries. The presenters are Catherine Westbrook and John Talbot. In each case Cathy and John are contracted to present the course by a local course organiser who administers the course, takes payments from delegates and is usually registered for VAT etc. In some cases the organiser may be a registered company involved in health, education or both.
Catherine Westbrook and John Talbot do not organise any of the courses themselves so all requests for information relating to the administration of the courses including payments, refunds etc should be directed to the relevant course organiser. This can be done by using the on-line info request forms relating to each course.

    Intellectual Property and Copyright Issues
    The names
MRI in Practice, and MRI in Practice / The Course are copyright 1992-date Blackwell Science (Wiley Books) & Catherine Westbrook.

All text and graphics in this web site and in the course materials are copyright (2009-date) Blackwell Science (Wiley Books) and John Talbot.

Audio and video recording of the live course content is strictly prohibited including (but not limited to) the use of mobile phones, iPods, iPads, tablet PCs, voice recorders, digital cameras and any type of computer. The presenters reserve the right to ask individual delegates to leave the lecture room in the event of them using any type of mobile electronic equipment. Lectures will not commence if there are any electronic items in evidence at the beginning of each session. The presenters will pause presentations in the event that any portable electronic device appears to be in use during a presentation. We have had to introduce these rules following attempts to make illegal video copies of the course materials and they are strictly enforced.

    Course Pricing
Course pricing may vary by country and by venue and is set by the individual organisers (as defined in paragraph 1). This will reflect the venue cost, the level of sponsorship and transport costs.
MRI in Practice (The Book) may be offered inclusive of the course fee in certain venues. Please check with the course organiser at the time of application. The course fee NEVER includes accommodation or travel.

    Course Cancellation
The course has been running continuously for over 20 years and cancellations are rare (only on three occasions to date). In the unlikely event of a course cancellation please note that the presenters and course organisers (as defined in paragraph 1) are not responsible for reimbursing anything other than the registration fee (where applicable) or the deposit (where applicable). Course organisers are not responsible for the reimbursement of any additional costs incurred by delegates in connection to their attendance at the course (for example travel costs or accommodation costs) We therefore strongly advise delegates who are travelling to the host city and staying in the venue hotel (or elsewhere) to take out travel insurance to cover any lost expenditure.

    Course Content
The course materials are updated constantly, to keep pace with changes within the field of MRI and to take advantage of the latest presentation technology and as such the course content may vary over time. The programme provided on this web site and in our promotional materials is for guidance only and we reserve the right to alter the timing and running order of the lectures to meet the requirements of the individual organiser and the venue.

Spin Up - Down Under

The MRI in Practice Course has been presented annually in Sydney since 2004.

The courses are delivered in partnership with Dr Peter Cox, who organises all of our Australasian courses.

The venue is the Novotel (Sydney Central) Hotel.

Novotel Sydney Central is located within walking distance of Darling Harbour in Sydney’s bustling CBD, and is conveniently located close to Sydney’s leading entertainment precinct, exhibition venues, and local attractions.

All guest rooms rooms feature a contemporary design that includes LCD televisions, iPod docking stations, private balconies, nine Austar channels, ergonomic workstations and fast Internet access.

The course is our full 4-day event, presented by Catherine Westbrook and John Talbot and held over a weekend to help facilitate attendance. The Sydney course usually attracts around 100 delegates, and usually sells out quite quickly, so early application is recommended. There is a discount delegate rate for early booking.

We usually hold a drinks reception at the end of day 01 - hope to see you there!

The course is held over a weekend to facilitate study leave for the delegates, and is usually accredited by the Australian Institute of Radiography and the Royal Australian and New Zealand College of Radiologists.
